On running a spyware scan with COUNTERSPY, which I recently aquired (good reviews)
"DMVite Surveillance" was found.....in KEYLOGGER HUNTER !
I tried downloading the latest version of KEYLOGGER HUNTER in case my original download had somehow been contaminated.
Same result:
"DMVite Surveillance" found in KEYLOGGER HUNTER.
WHY SHOULD THIS BE THERE ?
Obviously concerned as reason for having KEYLOGGER HUNTER in the first place is to stop the spying/access.
Please advise... |

False alarm.
The KH searches for hooks that them to find and destroy, probably it has caused suspicions.

OK.
Reinstalled it.Though on doing a Google search first time around when DMVite Surveillance was found it was coming up as spyware.
I've now "Googled" again on this & now nothing is found on this. Weird.
Heve you heard of DMVite Surveillance ?
Is it worth my trying a COMPLETE removal of KEYLOGGER HUNTER & fresh re-install, in case somehow was contaminated ? |

If you see an Hunter's icon in system tray, it means all normally, reinstallation is not necessary. |

I have thought up experiment!
Create a folder c:\Keylogger copy there any files and test this folder COUNTERSPY or simply open these files. There is a probability, that this program sees in the file path a word "keylogger" and causes a false alarm:)

Good idea. However, what Counterspy is saying it is detecting is DMVlite Surveillance in these files. It's not saying these files are spyware as such just that DMVlite Surveillance has been found in them. |

I can not be kept from a smile:)
The file "File_id.DIZ" contains only the text

Keylogger Hunter v2.1
Universal anti-keylogger.

Yes, you can send them this file and ask why their program causes anxiety on this file:) |
